Yorkshire Celebrant Funeral Ceremony at Cottingley Crematorium, Leeds
A Celebration of Life Yorkshire Funeral Ceremony!
‘’Pooh’’, said Piglet ‘How do you spell love?’
‘’You don’t spell it Piglet’’ answered Pooh, ‘You feel it’
Remembering the life of Bethany Jade Smith – In the Night Garden!
Everybody that knew Bethany Jade Smith absolutely loved her! This beautiful young lady loved her enchanting fairy tales and stories. Winnie the Pooh was one of her favourites. This meant that we knew Bethany was very comfortable in her white wooden coffin inscribed with an illustration and quote from A A Milne’s cuddly bear stories.
All through her life, Bethany had to have carers helping her with daily living and care .These incredible carers became part of Bethany’s own little 100 Acre Wood.
And just like her family were, the carers were known as Bethany’s Minions and Princess Bethy-Bobs was in charge!
Bethany made a grand entrance into the grounds of Cottingley Crematorium in Leeds as the song ‘A Million Dreams’ was being blasted through the windows of the hearse as this was one of her favourite songs.
As Bethany loved her Disney Princess stories and fairy tales, we celebrated her life with a funeral ceremony that was written and created in the style of a bedtime fairytale so that we could send the Princess into the Night Garden that she loved where she could play with her new friends like Iggle-Piggle and Upsy- Daisy.
Nighty-Night Bethy-Bobs!
Although only a limited amount of people were allowed inside the crematorium due to Covid restrictions, Cottingley Crematorium’s sound system meant all of Bethy-Bobs carers and friends could listen to the ceremony outside.
Everybody then heard Bethany’s Dad read her favourite story before she made her way into the Night Garden for her new adventure!
And so just before we played the Night Garden music, we said ‘Go to sleep Upsy Daisy, go to sleep Macca Pacca, Go to sleep Iggle Piggle…And Bethy-bobs we promise you will never be alone but for now we say Nighty Night and go safely to the Garden in the Night!’
Thank you to Bethany’s family for the beautiful flowers and for their kind words below.
